Sewing 101

Welcome to our exciting sewing class where students will acquire a wide range of valuable skills! Throughout the course, they will learn how to confidently operate a sewing machine, proficiently cut patterns and fabric, and master basic hand sewing techniques. In addition, they will engage in various sewing-related activities, gaining the expertise necessary to design and construct their own sewing-based projects.

Our diverse projects will encompass a delightful array of items such as stuffed animals, toys, purses, fashion accessories, and more. As your child learns to sew, they will simultaneously unleash their imagination, troubleshoot their machines, and most importantly, have fun! We foster a culture of creativity, encouraging students to embark on their own unique projects. While providing guidance and instructions, we equip them with the necessary skills to accomplish their chosen endeavors. Each project is thoughtfully designed to introduce new skills, ensuring continuous growth and learning.

Machines are provided. If your child wish to bring their own machine – that works! Students must be able to set up and clean up their own machine. Rest assured that all tools required for the class will be provided. Although some materials will be supplied, students are kindly requested to bring their own fabric for larger projects. This is mostly required for those wanting to sew clothing.

 Please read the description below for more details. New registrations must sign up for our Learn to Sew class to get a full introduction and be ready to attend the class. 

New Registration Fee $160 (non-refundable)
 This fee reserves your child(ren) spot in our weekly class for Sewing 101 at MyMakerScape.
* $80 – First Month tuition fee
* $80  – Final month tuition fee
$80/monthly – due on the first of the month. 

The prepaid final month fee rolls over to the next school year if student decided to continue sewing classes.
Monthly tuition fee is $80 per student. Due on the first of the month . Payment can be made as a one time payment or recurring. 

Recommended for ages 8 and up. Kids 7 and 6 years old can take a class but must be able to follow instructions and is interested in learning to sew. We offer a mix age group from 8 – 16 years old in a class. Each kid work on their own projects and at their own pace. No classes on September 29 and September 30th!  

Your start date will be the following month – October 6th, Friday or October 7th, Saturday.
