The Sewing Studio – Summer Edition!

For the month of June, we’re updating the format of our Sewing Studio classes to make them more flexible for summer schedules.

Instead of committing to a full monthly session, you can now register for individual class days. Simply choose the days that work best for you and reserve your seat. This allows students to continue sewing, learning, and practicing throughout June without a long-term commitment.

Please note: There will be no Sewing Studio sessions in July.

What is The Sewing Studio?

The Sewing Studio is the next step after completing our Intro to Sewing class or if you have prior sewing experience.

This is where students continue building their sewing skills through guided, hands-on projects. We provide a project list designed to introduce new techniques step-by-step while helping students grow confidence with their machine and overall sewing ability.

Our focus is simple: it’s not just about the finished project — it’s about the skills you develop while making it.

Practice is what helps you improve. As confidence grows, students begin moving into more independent sewing, including:

• Altering clothing
• Working with commercial patterns
• Choosing projects based on personal interest
• Learning to problem-solve through sewing

Every student works at their own pace, and that is expected and supported. Some will move quickly, others will take more time practicing specific skills. There is no pressure to keep up with anyone else.

Students will often be working on different projects at the same time based on their experience and goals.

More Than Just Sewing

The Sewing Studio is also about community.

We’ve seen students come in not knowing anyone and leave with friendships, confidence, and connections. We work hard to create a welcoming, supportive, and fun environment where people feel comfortable learning, making mistakes, asking questions, and creating together.

Open Studio — Launching in August

Registration opens in July

Starting in August, we will be launching Open Studio as a separate program for students who want additional sewing time outside of class.

Open Studio will allow students to reserve studio time during select hours to work independently on their own projects. This is ideal for extra practice, catching up, or simply getting more time at the machine.

More details will be released in July when registration opens.

You may bring your own supplies or use studio materials when provided — pricing remains the same either way.
